City took the lead in the tenth minute through Hayley Rosen’s composed finish. Soon after, it was 2-0 as Savannah McCarthy headed in City’s 2,500th goal in their history. In the 22nd minute, it was 3-0 when Keeva Keenan headed in a corner from Leanne Ross – her first goal for the club since joining in the summer.
Clare Shine found herself on the scoresheet after Leanne Ross provided her with a tap-in before Erin Cuthbert made it 5-0 with an outrageous backheel finish.
In the 37th minute, Shine scored her second when she stole the ball from the keeper and scored a simple finish – and before half-time, she completed her hat-trick.
Despite not scoring in the second half, City had their chances with Rosen’s volley hitting the post, Carla Boyce saw her effort hit the post – and late on, Boyce and Shine were denied by good saves.
Glasgow City remains top with their five-point lead over Hibs, whilst despite the defeat, Aberdeen is now guaranteed of their SWPL 1 place next season.
