Stirling University, Kick-Off: 2pm
Stirling University host Celtic trying to secure their third win of the season against Celtic.
Since the mid-season break, Stirling has hit fantastic form that has seen them move from possible relegation battlers up to their current position of fifth, with the aim of finishing fourth. During this period, the only games they have lost have been against Hibernian and Glasgow City – and they’ve picked up some highly impressive results, most notably beating Rangers 5-0.
Celtic can now no longer mathematically catch second place, sitting now 13 points behind Hibernian with four games remaining. It means their only aim left in the season is to finish in their current position of third. They only need four points and last week they picked up an important win over Rangers.
There has been a degree of controversy over the games between these sides this season. The first game had none, and Stirling produced a deserved late comeback to win 2-1. But in the second game, Celtic won the game – but due to an administrative error that saw Celtic’s team sheet incorrectly filled in, Stirling was awarded the win. To this date, excluding the top two sides, the only team that has beaten Celtic in the league is Stirling.
Celtic will stay third regardless of the result whereas a victory could see Stirling jump up one spot to fourth.
