Station Park, Kick-Off: 1pm
Forfar Farmington hosts a Hibernian side with both sides unable to afford to lose the game.
The maths is now simple for Forfar Farmington. They have to win all four remaining games to stay in the SWPL 1 and hope Aberdeen lose all four. It’s going to be difficult, especially as they have Hibs and Glasgow City as their next two league fixtures. But they will want to go into each of those four games with the ambition to win each one, regardless of their situation – especially their three remaining home matches.
Hibernian will travel up to Forfar looking to keep up the pressure on their title rivals Glasgow City, and with the Edinburgh club being five points behind City – they can’t afford to drop any points in their remaining games. This is the start of a hectic and busy October for Hibs as they compete in three competitions, but it will be something they will have to embrace.
This is now the fourth times these sides have met this season. In the SWPL Cup Quarter-Finals, Hibs won comfortably 6-0 – and whilst they have won both of their league encounters, they have been tougher tests. In April, they won 3-1 whilst in June, Hibs won 3-0.
Neither side can move from their current position, regardless of the result, but both know the importance of the result.
