Hibernian v Stirling University – Featured Match Preview – SWPL 1

25 September 2016, Easter Road, 2pm

A historic day in Hibernian Ladies’ history as they play at Easter Road in the league as they host Stirling University.

Hibernian are now reaching a critical part of their season, with a Scottish Cup Semi-Final and Champions League ties to come up – and if they have a chance to win the title, they cannot afford to lose a game. They go into the match, five points behind Glasgow City with just five games remaining.

Their opponents Stirling University are in superb form and whilst they were talked about being relegation candidates, they are now challenging for fourth place having won four out their past six games – picking up 13 points in the process. Their last win saw them pick up an astonishing 5-0 win against Rangers.

Both of the league games this season between the sides ended in wins for Hibernian – although, this was just after Hibs had won the SWPL Cup. It is likely that this game will be a closer affair.

Hibernian will remain second regardless of the result whereas Stirling could climb up to fourth with a victory.
