Maud Juniors, Kick-Off: 2pm
Relegation-threatened Buchan hosts a Hearts’ side that is looking to return to the top of the SWPL 2.
If Buchan were starting to believe that they were safe from relegation, then recent results show that they are now under threat. Defeats to Inverness City and Queen’s Park now means the two sides who have spent the season in the relegation zone now can believe that they can escape. Buchan hasn’t won a game since the 1st May, and since then, they have picked up a single point. They need to return to making their home ground as a fortress as it had been earlier on.
Hearts will be frustrated that once again, they’ve not managed to extend their time at the top of the league having lost the Edinburgh derby to Hutchison Vale. Coincidentally, it was Hutchie who had knocked Hearts off first spot last time, back in May. But they need to bounce back, look to pick up a win as they keep up the pressure of first placed Glasgow Girls and keep themselves ahead of third-placed Hamilton Academical.
On the opening day of the season, these two sides drew 2-2 – but back in May, Hearts were triumphant, winning 4-1.
