Glasgow Girls returned to the top of the SWPL 2 thanks to a brace from Lauren Evans as they beat Jeanfield Swifts 2-0.
Jeanfield were reduced to ten players in the 35th minute when keeper Bobby Cochran brought down an attacker on the edge of the box.
The home side was hoping to go in at half-time with the scores level, but just before the whistle, Glasgow Girls took the lead when Lauren Evans got in behind the defence to score.
Soon after the break, the away side doubled their advantage when Evans took advantage of some defensive hesitation to score.
Worryingly, late on, Eilidh McIntyre suffered a head injury that required treatment, but she seems like she is making a recovery. Tartan Kicks hope she make a full recovery and that she’ll be back on the pitch soon.
There was a moment of Scottish Women’s Football history too, as Donna Shaw played alongside Rachel Wolecki – the first time a mother and daughter had played in the same game.
