Granite City threatened to pull off a huge shock, before Hutchison Vale secured the win to reach the Quarter Finals.

It took just three minutes for Hutchie to take the lead through Yasmin Emek who was set up by Nichola Sturrock, and soon after Emek scored her second.

Just after the half-hour mark, Sturrock got onto the scoresheet with a stunning free-kick.

However, just before half-time, Granite City pulled two goals back meaning the scoreline was 3-2 at half-time to Hutchie.

Early in the second half, Hutchison Vale further extended their lead through Bryony Ross’ penalty. But just again, Granite City pulled another goal back.

Hutchie, though, didn’t panic and made it 5-3 when Sturrock once again turned provider with Emek completing her hat-trick with a stunning header.

Late on, goals from Beth McLeod, Sturrock and Ashley Fish secured a 8-3 win, but praise must be given to Granite City.
