Jeanfield Swifts 6-1 Raith Rovers – Scottish Women’s Cup Third Round

Jeanfield 6-1 Raith Rovers

Jeanfield Swifts came from behind to beat Raith Rovers and reach the Quarter-Finals of the 2016 Scottish Women’s Cup.

Raith took the lead with a stunning strike when Michaela McLauchlan volleyed in from a corner in just the fourth minute.

Six minutes later, though, Jeanfield equalised when Kirsty Scobbie managed to lob the keeper after being played in by Eilidh McIntyre.

At the half-hour mark, Jeanfield took the lead through Scobbie’s finish from the edge of the box with a superb finish and four minutes later, they further extended their lead through a Raith Rovers’ own goal. And then, Jeanfield made it 4-1 when McIntyre found the top corner.

In the 63rd minute, McIntyre once again was involved as she showed great strength to send through Alex Fox whose first-time finish beat the keeper.

And just before full-time, Jade McDonald completed the scoring to make it 6-1.
