Saughton Enclosure, 19 June 2016, Kick-Off: 2pm
Hutchison Vale host bottom-placed SWPL 2 side Inverness City.
May was an okay month for Hutchison Vale which started with a win over Hamilton Academical, draws with Hearts and Buchan with a defeat to Glasgow Girls. But they sit in fifth, eight points off the top. With the league table showing three groups of clubs with similar points, Hutchie will need to convert those draws into wins if they are to mount a title challenge. In fact, they have the most number of draws in the entire SWPL system, with four out of their nine games ending in draws.
They come into the game, having beaten Edinburgh Caledonia 5-0 in the Scottish Cup Second Round.
One of the teams Hutchison Vale has drawn against is Inverness City, who sit bottom of the SWPL 2. That 1-1 draw is still the only point Inverness has picked up this season,
Inverness’ home form has generally been stronger than their away form, but in their last SWPL 2 game that changed as they lost 10-1 to Hearts.
They’ve not picked up a point since the 3 April 2016, and like Queen’s Park, they will need to regain their confidence before they focus on picking up points.
But, as they travel down to Edinburgh, they do so that in the past two games against Hutchie, they have both ended in draws.
A win for Hutchie could see them move up to fourth, whilst Inverness City could move up to seventh if they win.
