Wishaw Sports Centre, 12 June 2016, Kick-Off: 2:30pm
SWFL Division One South Motherwell take on SWPL 2 Glasgow Girls, in a repeat of the Third Round game in last season’s Scottish Women’s Cup. In that match, Glasgow Girls were 3-0 up with 22 minutes left, but Motherwell launched an astonishing turnaround to win 4-3.
Motherwell is one of the most exciting sides outside the SWPL, with their squad including Megan Sneddon and Suzanne Grant, and last season, they reached the Quarter-Finals of the Scottish Women’s Cup. They currently lead the Division One South, but only on goal difference as they sit level on points with Celtic Academy. Motherwell also reached the SWFL Division One Cup Semi-Final, where they lost to Hibernian Development.
Glasgow Girls are riding high in the SWPL 2, joint top of the table, behind Hamilton only on goal difference. In the division, they’ve only lost two games and have become a side very difficult to beat. In the SWPL Cup, they reached the Quarter-Finals where they lost to Glasgow City.
In the First Round of the Scottish Women’s Cup, Motherwell beat Central Girls Football Academy Wasps 12-0.
