K-Park, 12 June 2016, Kick-Off: 4pm
This is the only all SWPL 1 tie as Celtic host Aberdeen.
Celtic’s dark-horse tags for the league title seem to be slipping slightly as they are still looking for a way to beat both Hibernian and Glasgow City, and sit currently third in the SWPL 1. Their defeats to the top two side have been all by single goals, and with their last defeats to Hibs and City, it was their starts that cost them. But their side is packed with quality players, and they are a team in progress that could sneak into the top-two. In the SWPL Cup, they lost in the First Round 1-0 to Hibernian.
Aberdeen has struggled overall this season, as they were expected to challenge for the top two. They’ve picked up two wins and a draw to sit in sixth place. But they’ve struggled to put together a run in the league and lost their league game heavily 8-0 to Hibernian. However, in the SWPL Cup, they reached the Semi-Finals where they lost 1-0 to Glasgow City.
This is both Celtic’s and Aberdeen’s first games in this season’s Scottish Cup.
