The two top-scoring SWPL 2 sides met at McDiarmid Park had produced a treat for the spectators.
Hamilton took the lead in the fourth minute when great strength from Lauren Gallen allowed her to beat the Jeanfield’s keeper Bobby Cochran with a great finish.
It was soon 2-0 to Accies as MT McGuiness was fouled by Cochran in the box, and captain Gillian Inglis sent her the wrong way from the penalty.
But Jeanfield didn’t get disheartened, and in the 18th minute, they had pulled a goal back through Nicola Martin. And then, in the 22nd minute, they equalised through Danni McGinley’s long-range stunner.
Both sides had great scoring chances late on in the first half with Jeanfield hitting the woodwork, and Hamilton seeing a shot cleared off the line, but the scores were all-square at half-time.
Hamilton retook the lead on the hour mark from another penalty after Lori Gardner was brought down. Once again, Inglis took the spot-kick and she made no mistake.
Jeanfield could have equalised late on, but Amie McGill managed to clear the ball off the line.
Hamilton now has a one-point lead at the top of the table, whilst Jeanfield Swifts remain in fourth place.
