Maud Juniors, 29 May, Kick-off: 2pm
Sixth-placed Buchan host fifth-placed Hutchison Vale with both sides looking to recover from disappointing defeats last Sunday.
After Buchan’s 4-1 defeat to Hearts, the Aberdeenshire club remains in sixth place and are now closer to the relegation places than first spot by just one point.
They are a club that definitely prefers to play at home than on their travels. They are currently the only side in the league to have an unbeaten record at home, winning twice and drawing once. Whereas away from home, they’ve won once and lost four times.
Their opponents Hutchison Vale lost last week to Glasgow Girls 2-0 in a tight game, but they would have been frustrated by the lack of pressure they put on their opponent’s goalkeeper. But, saying that, they’ve yet to lose on their travels and had previously been unbeaten since the second game of the season.
Going into the match, just two points separate these two clubs. A win for Buchan will see them overtake Hutchie up into fifth, whilst a Hutchie win could see the jump about Jeanfield Swifts into fourth.
