Forfar Farmington pushed Celtic all the way, but eventually the Glasgow side ran out 3-2 winners.
Celtic gave a debut to goalkeeper Keira Gibson whilst Forfar’s 17-year old attacked Amy Gallacher made her 50th appearance for Forfar.
The away side took the lead in the 11th minute when Kirsty Howat was played one-on-one with the keeper and placed the ball into the bottom-left corner.
That would be the only goal of the first half and within ten minutes of the second half, it looked like Forfar could produce a shock. They equalised when Julia Scott’s corner picked out Jade McLaren who headed past the keeper.
Forfar then took the lead when Tori Sousa placed the ball under the keeper.
But Celtic equalised in the 62nd minute when Forfar conceded a penalty for a push in the box, and Chloe Craig converted the spotkick.
And then they scored the eventual winner when Suzanne Mulvey’s solo run was converted by the striker.
