Hutchison Vale v Glasgow Girls – Featured Match – SWPL 2

Saughton Enclosure, 22 May 2016, Kick-off: 2pm

Our Featured Match.

Two of the in-form SWPL 2 sides meet at Saughton Enclosure as Hutchison Vale host Glasgow Girls, the third time this season these sides has met.

Both sides have one of the previous ties: Glasgow Girls won in the SWPL Cup whilst Hutchison Vale won in the SWPL 2. And in both times, the winning side ended the game with ten players.

Hutchison Vale is now unbeaten in their last five matches, however, three of those games ended in draws. One of those wins though was against Hamilton Academical.

The number of draws may be explained by the fact that they have the second-worst scoring record in the SWPL 2, having scored just nine times.

Their opponents Glasgow Girls also has one of the league’s worst goal scoring records, finding the back of the net twelve times – however, they find themselves in second place in the league.

This is in part of their past three matches which they won all three, including against Hearts and Jeanfield Swifts.

If Hutchison Vale wins, they could move up to joint first place whilst Glasgow Girls could take first place on their own merit with a victory.
