Hearts look to return to the top of the SWPL 2 with a win over Buchan. When the two sides met earlier on in the season, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

They had been the leaders of the SWPL 2, after they had beaten Hamilton Academical. However, over the past two games, their unbeaten run has come to an end as they lost to Glasgow Girls and drew with Hutchison Vale.

Hearts were one of the two pre-season title favourites, but the recent games have shown why people called the SWPL 2 ‘The League of Unpredictability’.

It is probably better for them that they are playing Buchan at their home stadium, as Buchan are a team that seems to perform better at home than away. They are unbeaten at home, whilst away, they’ve only won once whilst losing three times.

In fact, their last two away games (against Jeanfield Swifts and Hamilton Academical) has been particularly heavy defeats (7-2 and 5-2).

But, with Hearts’ recent form, you never know how important this fact will remain.

If Hearts win, they could move back up to first whilst Buchan could move up to fourth with a victory.
