Forfar Farmington v Celtic – Match Preview – SWPL 1

Station Park, Sunday 22 May, Kick-Off: 1pm

Forfar Farmington host Celtic at Station Park having move off the bottom of the table.

The first four matches of the SWPL 1 for Forfar were ones to forget for their fans, as they lost all four of these matches. However, over those four matches, there were signs that their performances were improving and over the past week – those signs turned into results.

Their match against Stirling was always going to be key, and they picked up a 2-0 win. And then, on Wednesday evening, they picked up another 2-0 win – this time to Aberdeen – to move off the bottom of the table and up to sixth.

However, if this run is to continue, they will have to produce a stunning performance to beat Celtic. Celtic’s dark-horse title chances seemed to have dwindled as they lost two games in a row, but recent results have seen them return to winning ways to move back up to third place.

But they are another team that has struggled on their road, nevertheless, last Sunday they picked up their first away win of the season – beating Aberdeen 1-0.

On the opening game of the season, Celtic beat Forfar 4-0.

A win for Forfar could see them move up to fifth, whilst if Celtic win – they could climb up to second place.
