Heathryfold Park, Sunday 22 May, Kick-Off: 1pm
Aberdeen host Spartans in a repeat of the SWPL Cup Quarter-Final which Aberdeen won 5-1.
The home side has struggled in the league, having picked up just four points out of the possible 21. And in the mid-week fixture against Forfar Farmington, they lost once again – seeing them drop down to seventh and just one point ahead of the relegation place.
Aberdeen at home has been known as one of the toughest fixtures in the SWPL, and yet, they’ve only picked up one point there and has scored only one goal. And they are the only SWPL 1 side yet to win at home this season.
But they face a Spartans side that has struggled on the road, and when they travelled up to Aberdeen for the SWPL Cup Quarter-Final, Aberdeen beat them 5-1. And not only has Spartans yet to pick up a point away from home, they’ve yet to score on their travels whilst having the worst goal difference in the league.
This will be Spartans third game in a row away from Ainslie Park, and in the previous two, they’ve conceded ten goals. However, they’ve won three out of their four games at Ainslie Park.
Aberdeen can replace Forfar Farmington in sixth, whilst Spartans are most likely to remain in fifth even with a win as they would require a huge goal swing with either Rangers or Celtic to move up.
