Hibernian triumphed in the Edinburgh Derby to move back up to second place in the SWPL 1.
They started strongly with Sarah Ewens firing a dangerous ball across the box, but no Hibernian attacker could get a foot on the ball.
And then they took the lead in the 12th minute. Captain Joelle Murray whipped in a delightful cross into the ball where Lucy Graham headed the ball into the net.
Both Graham and Lisa Robertson then tested the Spartans’ keeper Eartha Cumings.
But just before half-time, Hibs doubled their lead. After an initial shot was saved by Cumings, Sarah Ewens pounced at the ex-Spartans striker tapped in the rebound.
On the hour mark, Hibs made it 3-0 when Chelsea Cornet turned on the edge of the box and curled the ball into the far corner.
Four minutes later, they made it 4-0 when Robertson’s cross picked out Siobhan Hunter at the far post, and header found the net.
Lizzie Arnot nearly extended their lead late on, but when the full-time whistle was blown, it was still 4-0 to Hibernian.
