Hamilton Academical v Buchan – SWPL 2 – Match Preview

New Douglas Park, Kick-off: 4pm.

Hamilton Academical looks to get their season back on track as they host Buchan at New Douglas Park.

Like Hearts, Hamilton’s season had started brilliantly as they won their opening four matches. But this run has come to an end as they’ve lost their past two matches to Hearts and Hutchison Vale.

But they’ve got a highly impressive squad that is more than capable in getting back to winning ways. They will also be boosted by the returning Gillian Inglis after her previous suspension. If they can rediscover that free-flowing attacking play that saw them beat Queen’s Park 10-1, they will have a very good chance in beating their opponents.

Their opponents Buchan sit in sixth place but are only two points behind the second-placed Hamilton. They’ve definitely performed better at home than away, winning twice at home and being unbeaten whilst losing twice on the road.

For example, in their last game they won 4-3 at home against Queen’s Park whilst the game before, they had lost 7-2 away to Jeanfield Swifts.

Hamilton can return to the top of the table with a win, whilst Buchan can move up to second with a win.
