They had lost 1-0 to Glasgow City, but once again, a brilliant defensive performance kept a high-scoring side to a single goal and had a couple of chances to push the game into extra-time late on.

But, in their last SWPL 1 match, they picked up their first league win of the season as they defeated Stirling University 3-1.

However, they face tricky opponents in Celtic who a fortnight ago thrashed Spartans 6-0 to end a run of two defeats that had hampered their title aspirations and now sit nine points behind first place. Of course, there is the matter of that second Champions League spot, and they are only two points off second-placed Rangers.

Even with a win, Aberdeen will remain in sixth whilst Celtic can move up to second with a victory.
