3G Kessock Park, Fraserburgh, Sunday 1st May 2016, Kick-off: 2pm
Buchan host the bottom side Queen’s Park as both teams look to move away from the relegation places.
Buchan’s defeat to Jeanfield Swifts last Sunday saw them drop from third to sixth, a sign of how congested the middle of the SWPL 2 has become.
They’ve tended to be a side better at home than on their travels – although they did pick up an away win against Hutchison Vale. At home, they’ve drawn with Hearts and beaten Inverness City – whilst in their third away game, they lost to Glasgow Girls. Whilst they will be disappointed to be in their current position, they know a win will see them move back towards the top.
The same cannot be said about Queen’s Park who is still hunting for their first point. Like Inverness, they are in a position where they could find themselves cut adrift in the relegation places, but will just be focusing on getting that first point.
This is a tricky away tie for Queen’s Park, especially as this is the repeat of their League Cup First Round tie where they lost to Buchan 7-1. But they will be looking to continue their improvement show in their defeat to Hutchison Vale last Sunday where they looked like they could pick up a draw.
Buchan could move up to third with a win whilst Queen’s Park could move up to seventh with a draw.
