Queen’s Park v Hutchison Vale – Match Preview – SWPL2

Lesser Hampden Park, Kick-Off: 4pm

Bottom-placed Queen’s Park host Hutchison Vale, looking to get at least a point to kickstart their season.

They are one of two teams in the SWPL system yet to pick up a single point, and a series of heavy defeats have seen them get a goal difference of -19. Their league season started with a 5-1 defeat to Jeanfield Swifts, after taking the lead. This was followed by a narrow and tight 1-0 defeat to Glasgow Girls.

But it has been their past two games that have been particularly painful, losing 10-1 to Hamilton and 5-0 to Hearts. However, they will have to look to put those results behind them and see this game as a start of a new season.

Hutchison Vale started their season strongly, with a 3-1 win over Glasgow Girls. But since then, they’ve stuttered in form – losing to Buchan, and picking up consecutive draws to Inverness City and Jeanfield Swifts.

But the trip up to Inverness is always difficult and to hold a dangerous Jeanfield Swifts’ side to a goalless draw is highly impressive.

Queen’s Park sit bottom of the SWPL 2 with zero points and can move up to seventh with a win. Hutchison Vale is in fifth place, and can move up to third place with a victory.
